San Pancho used to be home of a big industry (milk, honey, etc.), but this changed when the gubernamental organism that opperated them, disapeared. The bodegas where abandoned for a long time, until a woman named Nicole Swedlow, who had a little educational space in the street under a mango tree, changed things. She asked the goberment to use one of the bodegas so that they could take her project and put it there in order to make it a comunity center for kids with educational purposes. That´s how Entre amigos was created, a non profit comunity center, created in 2006 to offer learning opportunities to children and their families in San Pancho. It´s core values are Education, Enviroment and Comunity. After that, the other bodegas was taken to create other comunity spaces like The circus of the children, La bodega de las Artes, the comunity Gym, etc. Today the bodegas are the places where you can learn new skills, create a work shop, educate the hole family and/or offer yourself as a volunteer to contribute to the comunity in any way you can think of.
